And in the case of a little baby crib the mattress size is 27 x 52 so a pre cut package of 45 x 60 batting should work for most crib quilting projects. The standard baby crib quilt size. The standard crib quit size is 36 x 52 or 30 x 40 for small baby cribs. Most standard crib quilts are rectangular measuring about 52 inches by 34 inches. Most baby mattresses are 52 inches by 27 inches so your quilt should fit comfortably into the crib.

Crib mattresses can be 23 x 46 but some mattresses can be 32 x 66. Either one or any measurement in between will be big enough to keep baby snugly warm on even the coldest winter day. For a standard baby quilt a 40 42 inch square is a good measure as you can use a single fabric which is 44 inch wide for the backing. The baby quilt size is best left to your interpretation using your own judgment and approximations.
