If the water heater is heating the water too much the excessive pressure may be causing the t p valve o leak. On a recent trip our water pump kept cycling about once every 20 seconds. Looks like we have a leak on our inlet side of the atwood water heater a pinhole leak in the part that connects to the pex. Lastly the most common cause of a leaking water tank.

If you ve positively ruled out the inlet and outlet to the water heater and the temp pressure relief valve the only 2 other things i can think of are the drain cap on the exterior and the tank itself. Using a rug mop or paper towels wipe the puddles of water on the rv s floor or surface that you suspect is coming from a leak.

Otherwise you risk severe damage t. Once a pinhole leak is opened up the pressure of the water inside the tank forcing its way through the opening will cause the leak to get larger over time. It is counterproductive to prevent water from flowing to your water heater while confirming if there is a leak or not. That spells trouble and has to be remedied.

As discussed above when sediment builds up in the bottom of a water tank for years and years it will eventually corrode through the bottom of the tank and begin to leak. Observe if water will again appear sometime after you finish drying up. If the valve was removed recently it s possible it is now failing to seal properly.
